Well, here I am again. Want to place photo's and video's as well, but this internet cafe doesn't seem to have those supplies to post photo's and such.
BUT, we can use the internet for free, cause they feel sorry for us, since we were in Christchurch during the earthquake, ;-)
Let me tell you first about our nice neighbor in Dunedin, Mrs. Edith Bunker I call her. She is really a lady, about 70 years old and she told us she met this lady on a train ride in Dunedin. Liek she said: "She is about 10 years younger then I am and she drives a bloody MG! What is a lady that age doing driving a bloody MG?" And the way she was telling us this, with her english accent, way too funny! And she wants to jump out of an airplane in Queenstown! "With your husband?" we asked. "No way!", she said, "with a bloody nice young stud ofcourse!!! And you know what, I won't die
and if I do, I am close to the end of my life anyway, so at least I am doing something fun! So, I might as well jump out of an airplane!" We were laughing! And she is right.
Well, so far the story of Mrs. Edith Bunker.
Saturday after breakfast, well, brunch, we got up late, we went for a stroll on the beach. Then we wanted to get some coffee, but coudn't find a cafe. So, I asked this lady that was doing "fast walking" She is probalbly in her early 60-ties.
"I will show you a place where you can have nice coffee. You walk fast?" she said.
No, we don't and we don't really want to, but hey, we DO want some coffee. And there we went, Carin next to her, I was behind them. Maybe she was in a hurry, or she walks like that al the time, but it went pretty fast. The lady was twice as small as Carin, so that was a funny site, me walking behind them. Took a photo, will place it later. She went faster and faster, Carin took 2 big steps, she did 4 short, fast steps and I was almost running behind them,
Espresso tasted good though!
Well, sunday was a great day! We did this Peninsula wildlife tour! Oh gosh, so beautiful and we saw some wildlife!
Our guide was Sean, nice guy, told us all about the area and wildlife. We were with 10 people, so nice group. First we did the albatros tour. Got some info, saw a little movie. The spanwide of an albatros is around 3 meters, or sometimes even more. We went to this point where they were flying above us. Really hard to take photo's, but we met this lady from Malysia, who is gonna mail us some photo's. She had some great shots!
The Peninsula of Dunedin is really big. Carin wanted to drive it with the camper, well, no way jose, not me, the roads were pretty narrow, some off them only gravel, glad we had a nice guide we trusted! I do trust Carin too ofcourse! ;-)
Anyway, after the albatros, we went to see some fur seals. First a windy drive thru the hills, then we had to walk up and down hill, yep, we sure had to do some exercise in order to see the wildlife.
Oh gosh, those fur seals are so cute! Lots of them. One was just being attacked by a bigger one, thank god I didn't see it. She died.
I got the little ones on film, put those video's on later.

After the seals, we went to a different place, yep, hiking down hill. There were some seelions. Big ones. They were asleep, so Sean, our guide said, we come back later, when they are a wake. (and when we came bakc later, they sure were awake! but I tell you later about it.)
Of to the penguins. The yellow eyed.
Got those on film too. They came out of the ocean, walking to the rocks. It is really funny to see them walk and they are cute as well.
Took some photo's, hope they turn out ok, because you can't be too close to them.
OK, still owe you the story of the seelions. When we came backt to the place on the beach where they were, they were awake and even posing for us, so we could take pictures. All of a sudden, one of them started to run to us. They can run 20 km.per hour, so that is pretty fast.
It scared the shit out of me, but Sean, stood right in fromt of the seelion, held up his hand and the seelion stopped. Made some noise though, but he stopped going after us. Well, a minute later, he came running again. Oh boy, was I scared again, I got the shakerietusm what ever you might call it. Thought only with an earthquake I can get the shakerietus, but when a seelion runs after you, wel, I got a big shaky too!
But it was a great tour! Glad we did it. Monday we took of to the Catlin coast. Found a nice little campground in the rainforest. WOW, from there we took a walk thru the rainforest to the Mc. Lean waterfalls. So beatifull!!! Pics I will post later. Can't figure it out here. While we were wlaking, you couls here and see all kinds of birds! So nice!
At nite we had dinner at the campground cafe. We treated our sefes to a nice dinner with nice desert. I had baileys with chocolate moussen and raspberries and whipped cream! I sure enjoyed that the fullest!
Next day, this morning, yes I remember waht we did this morning, ;-) we left for Invercargill. We made a few stops to see the nice area. We stopped at Curio bay, were there was a sad, kinda sick penguin and a dead penguin as well. Couldn't watch it.
Now we are in Invercargill, kinda boring town, but we will find a campground outside town.
Tomorrow to Manapuri, where we are doing the overnite cruise thursday/friday.
This was it for now, unfortuanally can't place the photo's now, will do it a.s.a.p..
Hasta pronto!
Louise

    Hoi Meiden,

    Liefs,
